The central theme of Run is the experience of angst, alienation and the perceived gratuitous and monotonous nature of being. The chaos of existence generates frustration, anxiety and despair. Man's need for rational explanations is met by the passive indifference of the universe. In Run logical time and space do not exist. The central character is without character, always a mechanical puppet. The plot is absent as are suspense and heightened movements. If man's existence is irrational no logical solution political or social can effect significant change.
