In September 2002, the United States military completed the biggest virtual war in history. During three weeks of this war game/exercise entitled the Millennium Challenge, the U.S. military (the Blue Force) engaged the army (Red Force) of an unspecified Middle Eastern nation led by a megalomaniac dictator. Advanced computer algorithms were used to control and coordinate the simulation.
